In this file photo, a person holds a glove while they donate blood. The American Red Cross is hosting dozens of blood donation sites across Southern Arizona to avoid a shortage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Arizona offices of the American Red Cross are urging blood donations in the Tuscon area, as normal supply levels are down due the COVID19 crisis.  There is concern that supply levels can support elective surgeries and other procedures as restrictions are eased.  Donation opportunities have been scheduled in 8 communities across Pima county.  “The hope is to avoid another shortage, like the one caused in March by the novel coronavirus.”

Now more than ever, it is important to save blood and save lives. That is exactly how BloodSTOP iX can help the medical profession: with power to control bleeding, and power to heal.  BloodSTOP iX can bring bleeding under control quickly in elective and routine surgeries, burns, trauma injuries, etc., saving lives, and relieving the strain on blood banks.

Reduced time in the operating room and in-patient hospital stay is an added benefit during the COVID-19 pandemic, both for the safety of patients and to keep hospital beds available.  Recent data from burn surgery shows BloodSTOP iX to be 8-10 times faster in bleeding control than standard treatment, with hospital stays about one third as long.

At LifeScience PLUS, we are doing all we can to help people stay safe.  We provide masks to protect lives from the virus, and BloodSTOP to save lives from bleeding!  For more details, check out our burn surgery, trauma surgery, and hospital application pages.
